BB Creams for Darker Skin / Yellow Skin - Reviews and Swatches

Note:
This Post has been and will be constantly undated with new 'finds' ^_^
(Update 4 June 2011: Added Hada Labo BB Moist Cream SPF32 PA+++ and Hada Labo BB Moist Emulsion SPF50 PA+++)
(Update 4 September 2011: Added  Coffret D'or Fast Beauty Foundation UV BB Cream SPF33 PA++)

Apologies for these HUGE-ass pictures,
but I really wanted to share my finds after COUNTLESS (well...actually...more than 30 FAILS
- I gave up swatching after THIS Blog Post:

"  BB Cream/Blemish Balm Swatches - All 16 of Them  "

It's depressing, you know... :(

And thanks to Yasumi, I finally found several BB creams which match my NC25-30 skin with YELLOW undertones!
{Note:
My face is closer to NC25; neck NC30.
And with my super short hair, base matching is HELL! =_=}
{Note 2: You can mix your BB cream with a yellow-toned liquid foundation (I just think this defeats the whole purpose of a BB cream) or set with a yellow-toned powder (I just don't like to ;))}

Oh joy! ^_^
No more disappointing sighs looking myself at the mirror...
Lamenting away how GRAY or PINK my face is...

By the way, the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #23 does absolutely NOTHING for me.
The colour depth is OK, but I look sallow... ~_~

And I have this pet peeve that many people rave and rave about Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream...
Try other brands - you'll be surprised at how superior some OTHER brands are...

{Note 3: If your skin's undertone is PINK, these BB creams may turn you ORANGE, so...you've been warned ;))

*Drumroll, please - The Line Up*

  2. I totally agree! I never was a fan of Missha bb creams... even with all the hype! I'm glad you were able to get the right swatches! :) and thank you for sharing. I'm super pale (MAC NC15-20) so I know which BB creams I should stay away from because they will be too dark for me. lol. <3

  3. wow glad that you found your shade in BB creams ^___^ thanks for sharing even though it doesn't really pertain to me, but I do know someone who is interested in BB creams and normal BB creams are light for her ^u^ so this will help

  11. sigh.. what about light yellow skintones.. NC 20-25?? ive tried missha perfect cover 21, and it looks PINK compared to my neck (grey when first applied).. i wish theres a yellow toned bb cream, but not as dark.. any recommendations?

  13. OMG thankyouthankyouthank you!!! I'm also NC25-30 with VERY VERY yellow undertones - in fact, I'm straight up YELLOW. I've only tried the Missha in No.31 and it was WAY too dark for me and oxidized to very orange. I knew based on reviews and swatches that the 23 would be too light and since I had the 31, I knew I don't LOVE the consistency. This post was SO SO SO helpful. I'm going to try the Ishizawa and also the Cyber Colors BB creams and hope for the best! And if those don't work, I'm bookmarking this page to try the other ones - thank you! :)

  14. Thank you very much for sharing.
But I'm confused, which one is Hada Labo Cream, and which is Hada Labo Emulsion.

At the product pic, you have :
[1] Hada Labo BB Moist Cream SPF 32 PA+++ in #2 Natural Ochre
[2] Hada Labo BB Moist Emulsion SPF50 PA+++ in #2 Natural Ochre

But at the swatches pic, you have :
[2] Hada Labo BB Moist Emulsion SPF32 PA+++ in #2 Natural Ochre
[3] Hada Labo BB Moist Cream SPF50 PA+++ in #2 Natural Ochre

Did you get the SPF or the Emulsion/Cream wording mixed up?

This is important cause the colouring for both Emulsion and Cream are quite different :)

    Thanks!!

  16. ey pretty extensive, retweeting this. thanks for sharing

    ReplyDelete
  17. o this is so helpful and extensive! i'm very yellow and quite beige (in terms of asian skintones) and always have a lot of problems with bb creams coming out pasty or grey! thanks so much for the comparisons~~

  18. hello, i live in Australia and really want to buy Nanoce. Do you know where I can get it? thanks

  19. great post! now what was your favorite?

    ReplyDelete
  20. oh my, another great post! thank you so much!! i have a similar problem of face being lighter than neck, but i'm probably a shade darker than you (i think nc30 face/nc35 neck... ish?). i love how you're giving me more bb cream options! thank you!

  21. I am also a NC 25-30, but found Nanoce #2 is a tad too orangey. Their Luxemoist Liquid, on the other hand, is in a perfect yellow tone. I think Charmzone Natural Skinade BB Cream, or their mineral BB cream is yellow-er. Might want to look into it. ^^
