Review: Skin79 BB Cream (Diamond The Prestige, Diamond Absolute Total, Super VIP Gold Label, Hot Pink Triple Function)

Holla! I'm BACK ^_^
And thank you so much for your support during my June turmoil <3

[  Apologies if this post sounds a little...loopy...disjointed...
Got a little rusty during the break...  ]

Anyway, I haven't been hauling much apart from a Lunasol palette, several Real Techniques brushes and some random doo-dats:

HOWEVER, I've went a "little" BB cream crazy.
Specifically, a KOREAN BB cream frenzy because much as I love my BB Creams for Darker Skin,
most of them are of Japan origin.
And considering Korea is BB cream's "stronghold",
I really wanted to find one which doesn't make me look white/pink/gray!

Watch out for more Korean BB cream reviews later because I found some HITS! <3 *finally-it's hightime!*

So...
I got a whole bunch of Skin79 BB Creams (or "Beblesh Balms" - odd name - typo? ^_~)
(Left to Right - Clickable Links:)
~ Diamond Collection The Prestige Beblesh Balm SPF25 Pa++
~ Diamond Collection The Absolute Total BB Cream Bb Cream SPF37 Pa+++
~ VIP Gold Label Collection Super Beblesh Balm  SPF25 Pa++
~ Hot Pink Super Beblesh Balm Triple Function SPF25 Pa++

And if you look up the BB creams I chose to review in the chart below,
you'd notice that NONE of these offer "Coverage" as one of my "Skin's Needs".

NOT that I DON'T need coverage (believe me when I tell you I NEED it!),
but prior experience with Korean BB creams (Missha, SkinFood, Etude House, The Face Shop, the list goes onnnnnnnn...)
has taught me most BB creams touting great coverage are thick, pasty and incredibly difficult to blend/work with.

BB Creams for Darker Skin / Yellow Skin - Reviews and Swatches

Note:
This Post has been and will be constantly undated with new 'finds' ^_^
(Update 4 June 2011: Added Hada Labo BB Moist Cream SPF32 PA+++ and Hada Labo BB Moist Emulsion SPF50 PA+++)
(Update 4 September 2011: Added  Coffret D'or Fast Beauty Foundation UV BB Cream SPF33 PA++)

Apologies for these HUGE-ass pictures,
but I really wanted to share my finds after COUNTLESS (well...actually...more than 30 FAILS
- I gave up swatching after THIS Blog Post:

"  BB Cream/Blemish Balm Swatches - All 16 of Them  "

It's depressing, you know... :(

And thanks to Yasumi, I finally found several BB creams which match my NC25-30 skin with YELLOW undertones!
{Note:
My face is closer to NC25; neck NC30.
And with my super short hair, base matching is HELL! =_=}
{Note 2: You can mix your BB cream with a yellow-toned liquid foundation (I just think this defeats the whole purpose of a BB cream) or set with a yellow-toned powder (I just don't like to ;))}

Oh joy! ^_^
No more disappointing sighs looking myself at the mirror...
Lamenting away how GRAY or PINK my face is...

By the way, the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #23 does absolutely NOTHING for me.
The colour depth is OK, but I look sallow... ~_~

And I have this pet peeve that many people rave and rave about Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream...
Try other brands - you'll be surprised at how superior some OTHER brands are...

{Note 3: If your skin's undertone is PINK, these BB creams may turn you ORANGE, so...you've been warned ;))

*Drumroll, please - The Line Up*

Korean Haul: Innisfree, Laneige, Nature Republic, Vov Castledew, Hanskin

REVIEWS TO COME LATER!
Follow My Blog!
This is wayyy to much to use in a week :P

Let's begin with the samples, or as they call it in South Korea, "service"?
OMG! They SO generous with samples, I was actually delirious with joy sorting them out :D

Note: I believe I would have MORE Laneige samples had I purchased the Laneige bases in Aritaum as with the eye makeup :p
The Laneige bases were purchased in a duty-free outlet, thus instead of a shit-load of samples, I got a cash rebate...Oh well...Still an awesome deal ^_^

Samples OVERLOAD! ^_^ NOT that I mind HA!

BB Cream/Blemish Balm Swatches - All 16 of Them!

I Confess:
   ...I am a Masochist...
...A Masochist who feels perverse pleasure in failure of finding The One (my apologies to Keanu Reeves)...
...The One Blemish Balm ("BB") which matches my NC25-NC30 skintone...
...The One BB whose texture agrees with my finicky preferences in base products...
...The One BB which doesn't make my skin erupt...
   ...And the Search continues...
   ...Alas...
   ...For I Believe...
...The One is still out there...
   ...Awaiting Me...

Most BBs are either way too light, way too pink, or both.
Really, people can rave all they want about how uber natural BBs look, but they only look natural IF they match your skintone.
As for their "miraculous chameleon-like-one-shade-fits-all" colour-adjusting property, well, let's just say ONE shade can only "adjust"/oxidise so much... =_="
In fact, using BBs makes me feel like I am the most tanned Oriental Asian O_o
(I know - rehashed - but I still stand by what I said back then...)
And don't get me started on the texture issues, please...
(...Thick, pasty, hard-to-blend, spackle-like...)

Edited 16 January 2011:
Important!
Sometimes, BB swatches are NOT accurate representations as certain BB creams may LIGHTEN or DARKEN as you blend.

Note:
I do NOT own the BBs in Batch 1 anymore, except for the Nude Cosmetics Skin Radiance 3 in 1 Multi BB SPF 25 PA++.
You can use that as a Control to gauge the other BBs undertones and colour depth.

Behold...Batch 2 of BBs I've been dabbling with in the recent months.
Most of them are failures and I shall be looking up new homes for them soon (via my BlogSale).
However, my stubborn streak is still trying to make the more promising ones work...The Vichy in particular because oil-control is superb!

Review:
Cellnique (Skin Purifying DayTime Protection 20)
vs
B'Liv (B'Liv Got Me Covered SPF 35)

July was a horrific month in terms of travel - travelling for work, that is. I rarely travel, much less for work, but duty calls...

Now, this may be shocking to my Malaysian readers, but I am one of the few who lives in a house WITHOUT a single unit of air-conditioning. Heat-wave, be damned, out comes an extra fan. Thus, 2 straight weeks of spending nights in air-conditioned hotel rooms pretty much wreaked havoc on my skin.

I broke out left, right and centre, literally. I wasn't sure if it was solely due to the almost-24 hour exposure to dry air-conditioned air, or my foundation of that time, NARS Sheer Glow. Either way, I needed help, and I needed it fast.

So, skin needs to breath and recover, but hell if I'm going to show up at work bare-faced. Much as I love my Nude Cosmetics BB Cream, it's not cut-out for my "work face". An online acquaintance who seems to be sensitive to every man-made substance on earth, told me about B'Liv's Got Me Covered ("BGMC"), and since her skin could tolerate it, my curiosity was peaked. Checked out the ingredients, seems OK, and it contains salicylic acid! YAY! BUT (there's always a "but" with me, eh :P), it only comes in ONE shade, and it got me thinking, "Eeewww, another ONE shade fits ALL thingee again" ~_~

Since I was at it and knowing that B'Liv is an offshoot of Cellnique, I went nosing around Cellnique's website, and voila! Cellnique has its own "version" Skin Purifying DayTime Protection 20 ("CSPDP")- a MORE potent version since it also contains benzoyl peroxide (the basis of my adult-acne skin care routine). Sadly, another ONE shade product :(

Updates: Hair + Laptop + Nude Cosmetics Video Reviews

So, after posting my YouTube video reviews on the Nude Cosmetics products, I received more Comments and Messages on my {{hair}} rather than the {{products}} themselves. Sighs...I do not know whether that is a good sign or not, so I will just take it as positive one :P

I have written an in-depth First Impression on the BB Cream and an Introduction to the Nude Cosmetics brand as well. After using the product for more than week, I still stand by everything I wrote in the First Impression.

However, in the course of the extra week, I do have several additional observations to add.

1st Impression: Nude Cosmetics "Skin Radiance 3 In 1 Multi BB Cream"

I will be writing a First Impression on Nude Cosmetics' "Skin Radiance 3 In 1 Multi BB Cream" today.

For more information on the Nude Cosmetics, please click here.

I will honestly say this: I have NEVER been much of a BB Cream fan although I live in Asia, and it is all the rage here. Now the fever has engulfed the US, the UK, etc. Ironic, no? Not because I abhor the no-makeup look it purportedly offers, but mainly because their colour match {or rather, colour MISMATCH in my case} makes me look like a wannabe Geisha! ~_~ Not a good look...Also, I am usually put off by their thick, pasty texture - makes blending a chore...
So, WHY choose a BB Cream, of ALL the items offered by Nude Cosmetics, to try and review? Because, damn it, I want a BB Cream that works on ME! Also, I watched a a video in their channel where it was applied on a GUY who is not incredibly pale, so that gave me some hope ~_^ Desperate, yes I am!
